Turbine’s first foray into the realm of MMORPGs, Asheron’s Call was released back In 1999. It’s a fantasy MMO, but separates itself from the herd by deviating from the racial norms of goblins and elves. In terms of game mechanics, Asheron’s Call doesn’t artificially divide itself into high and low level zones allowing players to pit themselves against enemies of all difficulty types using a combat system that relies more heavily on skills and equipment than raw level to determine combat outcome.
