Dance Groove Online is a rhythm game where players can create a character and compete in dance battles of varying difficulty to score points, level up, and fight for dance stardom and glory. Similar to Dance Dance Revolution, Dance Groove Online doesn\'t require a dance mat, just your fingers.

As well as options for gender, body size, and body type, there are currently more than 300 items and counting available to customize your character with (though how many must be paid for in the item shop with real life money, is unclear).
 

After you\'ve picked and customized your dancer, you can dive into the game. Play solo mode to practice your skills, level up and engage in even more customization. Try your hand at dancing with friends or joining a dance crew. Dance crews are the game\'s guilds, and there are crew vs. crew competitions as well.

The game\'s difficulty starts out at four keys and includes six, and eight-key modes for the more advanced dancers. There are defense items to protect one\'s character and attack items to hinder others.

Events are held in-game frequently, and GMs take part in the competition and award prizes. Free to play, the game will be supported by a cash shop.
